Blue Currents presented its Trident line at the University of Miami's Resilience 365 Conference, pitching as part of the Risk + Resilience Tech Hub's product showcase for resilience, ocean and climate innovation.
Our pitch focused on one idea: containerized, deployment-ready water and power. Disaster response and hospitality resilience look like different markets, but they share the same core problem. Both need water and power when centralized systems fail, and both need hardware that can be deployed now, not after years of planning.
“The hardware is ready. What determines the timeline is the capital stack behind it.”
Derek Duzoglou, Founder, Blue Currents
The Tech Hub's pitch sessions put startups in front of the people who decide what gets deployed and funded. We used the slot to walk through Trident's specifications and readiness: what the system produces, how fast it deploys, and where it fits first.
Beyond the pitch, the conference tackled how resilience gets paid for, from public-private partnerships to blended capital, alongside sessions on built infrastructure and the operational realities of climate and health.
Our takeaway: the hardware is ready. What determines the timeline is the capital stack behind it.
